Bohr's Atomic Model

Asked by Ramya BJ · 1 year ago

What are the main postulates of Bohr's atomic model?

1 Answer

Bohr's atomic model has the following main postulates:

1. Electrons revolve around the nucleus in fixed circular orbits.
2. Each orbit has a fixed energy level, called a stationary state.
3. Electrons can jump between energy levels by absorbing or emitting specific amounts of energy.
4. The angular momentum of an electron in an orbit is quantized (mvr = nh/2Ï€).
5. Electrons emit or absorb energy only when transitioning between orbits.
