Asked by Sim Ran · 1 year ago

How do you calculate the molecular mass of H2O?

1 Answer

To calculate the molecular mass of H2O:
1. Find the atomic mass of hydrogen (H) and oxygen (O) from the periodic table.
2. H has an atomic mass of 1.008 u
3. O has an atomic mass of 15.999 u
4. For H2O, multiply H by 2 and add O:
(2 × 1.008) + 15.999 = 18.015 u
Therefore, the molecular mass of H2O is approximately 18.015 u.
