It is said that colchicine induces polyploidy. But when it arrests the cell at metaphase, the ploidy still remains at 2n right although dna content is 4C? So why do they say it induces polyploidy?

It is said that colchicine induces polyploidy. But when it arrests the cell at metaphase, the ploidy still remains at 2n right although dna content is 4C? So why do they say it induces polyploidy?
Because after metaphase in cell the ploidy of chromosome becomes double
