Pls explain in detail.
The given reaction is :- C(diamond)⇌C(graphite)
Given, Density of diamond =2.5g/mL density of graphite =1.3g/mL
∵ density of diamond > density of graphite
As the pressure is increased on the system at equilibrium then by Le Chatelier's principle, the reaction will shift towards the formation of a denser product. So, the backward reaction is favoured.
