What is least molecular mass? I need proper explanation. Please don't be vague in your answers, because last time I posted the same ques, I got nothing but a blunt answer.

A particular definition of least molecular mass is not there but like in certain questions we are asked that find the least molecular mass of a Compound. Example: A compound contains 8% sulphur by mass. The minimum molecular weight of the compound is: Like in this question least molecular mass is asked . There you know that 8% sulphur is present, so you'll use the formula Molecular mass of element / total molecular mass of compound * 100 = percentage of element

The answer to the example would be 32/ x * 100 = 8 So after solving this you'll get X = 400g I hope you got your answer

And with reference to this question the least molecular mass, you can say that at least one atom of the element whose percentage is given should be present in the compound whose ... Understood?
