What is surface charge density, and in what units is it measured?

1 Answer

Surface charge density is the amount of electric charge present per unit area on a two-dimensional surface. It is typically denoted by the Greek letter σ (sigma). The SI unit for surface charge density is coulombs per square meter (C/m²). In simpler terms, it describes how much electric charge is concentrated on a surface area.
