Definition of Alternating Current

Asked by Prince Patel · 1 year ago

What is alternating current and how does it differ from direct current?

1 Answer

Alternating current (AC) is an electric current that periodically reverses direction and changes its magnitude continuously with time in contrast to direct current (DC), which flows only in one direction. In AC, the flow of electric charge periodically reverses direction, while in DC it remains constant in direction.
