Oxintic cells also called parietal cell. It secret HCl and Castle intrinsic factor . HCl does-
- Convert pepsinogen into pepsin
- Provide acidic nature
- Kills the pathogens which are entering into gut
- Convert iron into absorbable form Fe+2 Castle intrinsic factor does the absorption of vitamin B12.
