DNA Structure

Asked by Karthik Sharma · 1 year ago

What is the structure of DNA and how does it store genetic information?

1 Answer

DNA (Deoxyribonucleic Acid) is a double-helix structure composed of nucleotides. Each nucleotide consists of a sugar (deoxyribose), a phosphate group, and one of four nitrogenous bases (Adenine, Thymine, Guanine, or Cytosine). The bases pair specifically: A with T and G with C. The sequence of these bases along the DNA molecule encodes genetic information, determining an organism's traits and functions.
