Examples of Zero Order Reactions

Asked by Mohammed Irfan · 2 years ago

What are some examples of zero order reactions?

1 Answer

Some common examples of zero order reactions include:

  • The decomposition of ammonia on a platinum surface: 2NH3 (g) → N2 (g) + 3H2 (g)
  • The photochemical reaction between hydrogen and chlorine: H2 (g) + Cl2 (g) → 2HCl (g)

In these reactions, the rate of reaction does not depend on the concentration of the reactants, making them zero order reactions.
