Can someone explain the Chromosomal Theory of Inheritance in simple terms?

1 Answer

The Chromosomal Theory of Inheritance was proposed by Sutton and Boveri in the early 20th century. According to this theory, genes are located on chromosomes, and it is the chromosomes that segregate and independently assort during meiosis. This explains how traits are inherited from one generation to the next. Essentially, chromosomes carry the genetic information in the form of genes, and these genes determine the traits of an organism.
