Function of Tapetum

The tapetum plays crucial roles in anther development:

1. Nourishment: It provides nutrition to developing pollen grains
2. Enzyme production: Secretes enzymes for pollen wall formation
3. Exine formation: Contributes to the outer layer (exine) of pollen grains
4. Pollen kit: Produces substances like pollenkitt, which aids in pollination
5. Callase enzyme: Produces callase for dissolving callose walls around microspores

There is no role of tapetum in development of another
