Horizontal Range

Asked by Mahima A · 1 year ago

What is the formula for the maximum horizontal range of a projectile?

1 Answer

The formula for the maximum horizontal range of a projectile is:

R = (u2 * sin2θ) / g

Where:
R = horizontal range
u = initial velocity
θ = angle of projection
g = acceleration due to gravity (9.8 m/s2)

The maximum range occurs when sin2θ = 1, which happens at an angle of 45°.
