Two container A amd B are partly filled with water and closed. The volume of A us twice that of B and it contains half the amount of water in B. If both are the same temperaturd, the water vapour in the container will have presure in the ratio of

1 Answer

Given volume of container A = twice the volume of container B.

VA=2VB

also the temperature is same for both the containers.

TA=TB

From Ideal gas equation we get

pV=nRT

pAVA=pBVB

As the container contains same liquid and temperature the term nRT will be same.

PA/PB=VB/VA=VB/2VB =1/2
