Structure of Isopropyl Chloride

Asked by Zainab Fatima · 1 year ago

What is the molecular structure of isopropyl chloride?

1 Answer

Isopropyl chloride (C3H7Cl) has the following structure:

1. A three-carbon chain with a chlorine atom attached to the central carbon
2. Molecular formula: CH3-CHCl-CH3
3. It is an alkyl halide (haloalkane)

The central carbon is a chiral center, making isopropyl chloride optically active.
