What are the main components of a sieve tube?

A sieve tube consists of sieve tube elements and companion cells. Sieve tube elements are elongated cells connected end-to-end, forming tubes. They have porous end walls called sieve plates. Companion cells are closely associated with sieve tube elements and support their function.
