Torque Units

Asked by Mani JK · 1 year ago

What are the common units used to measure torque?

1 Answer

Common units used to measure torque include:

1. Newton-meter (N·m) - SI unit
2. Kilogram-force meter (kgf·m)
3. Pound-foot (lb·ft)
4. Dyne-centimeter (dyn·cm)

In NEET and other physics exams, you'll most commonly use Newton-meter (N·m). To convert between units:
1 N·m = 0.102 kgf·m
1 N·m = 0.738 lb·ft
1 N·m = 107 dyn·cm

Remember, torque is a vector quantity, so its direction is also important in problem-solving.
