Understanding Dimensional Formula

Asked by Siva Perumalla · 1 year ago

What is the dimensional formula of resistance and how is it derived?

1 Answer

The dimensional formula of resistance is [M L2 T-3 A-2]. It is derived from Ohm's law, which states that V = IR. The dimensions of voltage (V) are [M L2 T-3 A-1], and current (I) has dimensions [A]. Dividing the dimensions of voltage by current gives us the dimensions of resistance.
