Understanding Dimensional Formula

Asked by Mahek A · 1 year ago

What is the dimensional formula of momentum and how is it derived?

1 Answer

The dimensional formula of momentum is [MLT-1]. This is derived as follows:

Momentum = mass × velocity
Dimensional formula of mass = [M]
Dimensional formula of velocity = [LT-1]

Therefore, momentum = [M] × [LT-1] = [MLT-1]
