The dimensional formula of pressure is derived from its definition. Pressure is defined as force per unit area. The formula for pressure (P) is:
P = F / A
Where:
P = Pressure
F = Force
A = Area
The dimensional formula for force (F) is [M L T-2] and for area (A) is [L2]. Therefore, the dimensional formula of pressure is:
[M L T-2] / [L2] = [M L-1 T-2]
So, the dimensional formula of pressure is [M L-1 T-2].
