Can someone explain what s-block elements are in the periodic table?
s-block elements are the elements located in Group 1 and Group 2 of the periodic table. These include the alkali metals (like Lithium, Sodium, Potassium) and alkaline earth metals (like Beryllium, Magnesium, Calcium). The defining characteristic of s-block elements is that their outermost electron occupies an s-orbital.
