What are the methods of preparation of Haloalkanes?

Can someone explain the different methods of preparation of haloalkanes as per the Class 12 NCERT syllabus?

In Class 12 NCERT, haloalkanes can be prepared by the following methods:
- From Alcohols: By treating alcohols with halogen acids (HX), phosphorus halides (PX3, PX5), or thionyl chloride (SOCl2).
- From Hydrocarbons: By free radical halogenation of alkanes, or by addition of halogens (X2) to alkenes and alkynes.
- From Halides: By using the Finkelstein reaction (exchange of halides) and the Swarts reaction (exchange of halides using a metal fluoride).
