A monohybrid cross is a breeding experiment between two organisms that are identically hybrid for one trait. For example, when Mendel crossed two pea plants that differed in just one characteristic, such as plant height (tall vs. short), he was performing a monohybrid cross. In this cross, we only consider one trait and observe how it is inherited across generations.
