I came across the term pBR322 in my studies. Can someone explain what it is?

1 Answer

pBR322 is a commonly used plasmid vector in genetic engineering. It is a small, circular DNA molecule that replicates independently within bacterial cells. pBR322 has been engineered to include multiple cloning sites, antibiotic resistance genes, and other features that make it useful for cloning and manipulating genes. It is particularly significant in recombinant DNA technology.
