The dimensional formula of power is derived from its definition. Power is the rate at which work is done. Mathematically, power (P) is given by:
P = W / t
Here, W is work and t is time.
The dimensional formula for work (W) is [ML2T-2] and for time (t) is [T].
So, the dimensional formula of power is:
[P] = [ML2T-2] / [T] = [ML2T-3]
Therefore, the dimensional formula of power is [ML2T-3].
