The dimensional formula of pressure is derived from its definition. Pressure is defined as force per unit area. The SI unit of force is Newton (N) and that of area is square meter (m2).
Force itself has a dimensional formula of MLT-2. Therefore, pressure, being force per unit area, has the dimensional formula:
P = F / A = MLT-2 / L2 = ML-1T-2
So, the dimensional formula of pressure is ML-1T-2.
