Working Principle of Moving Coil Galvanometer

Can someone explain the working principle of a moving coil galvanometer?

1 Answer

The working principle of a moving coil galvanometer is based on the fact that when a current-carrying conductor is placed in a magnetic field, it experiences a torque. The moving coil galvanometer consists of a rectangular coil of wire that is free to rotate about a fixed axis in a uniform magnetic field. When an electric current passes through the coil, it experiences a magnetic torque. This torque causes the coil to rotate. The coil is attached to a pointer that moves over a scale to indicate the current passing through the coil.
