Cuboidal epithelium consists of cuboidal cells which are tall and wide with centrally placed nucleus (polygonal in outline). It lines the respiratory bronchioles, sweat glands, salivary glands and thyroid follicles. (secretory in nature). The cells of cuboidal epithelium often forms microvilli on their free surfaces which gives a brush like appearance, hence called brush bordered cuboidal epithelium (e.g., proximal part of uriniferous tubules). It also lines pancreatic duct (non-secretory), testis (seminiferous tubules) and ovary. In ovaries and testis it is called germinal epithelium because these cuboidal cells are capagble of producing gametes (ova and sperms respectively). Cuboidal cells also have cilia which occurs in certain parts of nephrons of the kidney. Hence called ciliatged cuboidal epithelium.

Ciliated epithelium is a region of epithelium consisting of columnar or cuboidal cells bearing hair like appendages called cillia, that are capable of beating rapidly. Ciliated epithelium performs the functions of moving particles of fluids over the epithelial surface. Cuboidal ciliated epithelium occurs in certain parts of uriniferous tubules whereas columnar ciliated epithelium occurs in fallopian tubules, nasal passages, bronchioles, small bronchi and buccopharyngeal cavity of frog. It often occurs in the vicinity of mucus secreting goblet cells. 

Squamous epithelium are found in lining of alveoli in the lungs and Bowman's capsule in the kidney. Columnar epitjelium are found in the lining layer of gastrointestinal tract, gall bladder, uterus etc. and cubical or cuboidal epithelium lines the salivary ducts, pancreated ducts, gastric glands, thyroid follicles, germinal epithelium of ovary, proximal part of uriniferous tubules etc.

Fibres and fibroblasts are compactly packed in the dense connective tissues. Orientation of fibres show a regular or irregular pattern and are called dense regular connective tissues. In the dense regular connective tissues, the collagen fibres are present in rows between many parallel bundles of fibres. Tendons, which attach skeletal muscles to bones and ligaments which attach one bone to another are examples of this tissue.
